About Batavia, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Batavia is a Chicago, IL suburb, and it is the oldest city found in Kane County, although a small portion is situated in DuPage County, as well. As of 2012, this community had a population of roughly 26,500 residents, and it is known as “The Windmill City” due to housing six manufacturing companies that specialize in creating the American-style windmill. Aldi, Inc. is headquartered in Batavia, and other major employers of the community include Fermilab, Suncast, AGCO, and Eagle Concrete. The nearest Metra train station to the community can be found in either Aurora or Geneva.
Batavia has several great attractions located within its city limits. The Funway Ultimate Entertainment Center is a great place to take the whole family on a summer afternoon, and the Red Oak Nature Center provides ample opportunities for outdoor recreation. Settler’s Hill Golf Course is a great destination to play a round of golf, while the Batavia Depot Museum and Water Street Studios Gallery bring a little bit of culture to the community.
Batavia is situated within a humid continental climate zone, and this is typical for communities found in the Upper Midwest. Winters tend to be cold and snowy, and in January, temperatures rarely reach the 30s. These freezing conditions coupled with heavy snowfall can make living and driving conditions in Batavia and the surrounding region quite dangerous, so it is vital that residents invest in a reliable furnace system and have it checked out in the autumn months to ensure optimal working order.
Summer months in Batavia are dramatically different from the winter season. High temperatures will reach the low- to mid-80s, and humidity levels tend to be high. Most residents will fire up their air conditioners during these months to cool off indoors. As an additional benefit to a reliable air conditioning system, residents will also enjoy lower monthly utility costs when choosing an energy-efficiency system.
